NOTE ON SIZES:

For 1" to 4" filters, the dimensions indicated (in inches) are nominal dimensions. In reality, the filter frame measures ¼" less in length and width.

For 5" filters, the dimensions are the actual size.
HEPA AirMax™ for Extreme Filtration

 

 

 

This is the same type of filter used in operating rooms...

Even if a HEPA filter seems to be the ultimate filter for home furnaces and air exchangers, it is not the best choice for all.

In theory, a HEPA filter can capture 99.97% of dirt, pollen, bacteria and other particles as small as 0.3 microns. These particles are 10 times smaller than those captured by the Air-T-Rex or the MervPlus filters.

However, this extreme filtration power has some drawbacks:

  • The filter is more expensive.
  • It requires more monitoring because when clogged, the air flow is reduced to a level that can cause problems to air conditioners and heat pumps.
  • Its lifespan is shorter.
