AIR-T-REX™: The No. 1 Consumer Choice!
|
Also Available:
Air-T-Rex+Carbon
|
Without a doubt, the best 'all purpose' filter on the market!
With its three levels of filtration, the Air-T-Rex is a winner. Unlike other filters that are enclosed in a rigid cardboard frame, the filtering material of the Air-T-Rex is sewed into a steel wire frame. The filtering material is about 1 inch longer than the steel frame to ensure an airtight fit around the perimeter.
Uses
- Furnaces
- Air Exchangers
- Inlet Grilles
Benefits
- Equivalent to the Merv 6
- Guaranteed to be airtight at the perimeter
- Affordable
- Easy to install
- Captures an impressive amount of dust without clogging

NOTE: Dimensions indicated (in inches) are nominal dimensions. In reality, the filter frame measures ¼" less in length and width. The flexible border is extra.

Merv Plus™ - Our Merv 11 Pleated Filter for Really Fine Filtration

|

Also Available:
MervPlus+Carbon

|
Our MervPlus™ filter is a high quality filter that has a very large filtration surface thanks to its numerous zigzag folds (like an accordion). It is available from 1" to 5" thickness.
Did you know that our 4" Merv Plus filter can replace the electronic filter of your furnace. Instead of spending $500 to $1000 to replace the old electronic filter, why not get superior performance at a lesser cost with our MervPlus filter?
Uses
- Furnaces
- Electronic filter replacement
- Air Exchangers
Benefits
- No ozone pollution: Ozone is a highly irritatating gas, quite undesirable indoors. Contrary to electronic filters, the MervPlus filter does not generate ozone.
- Easy installation: You have only to remove your old electronic filter and slide the MervPlus into place. The dimensions are the same.
- Available in standard and activated carbon versions.

NOTE ON SIZES:
For 1" to 4" filters, the dimensions indicated (in inches) are nominal dimensions. In reality, the filter frame measures ¼" less in length and width.

HEPA AirMax™ for Extreme Filtration
|
|
This is the same type of filter used in operating rooms...
Even if a HEPA filter seems to be the ultimate filter for home furnaces and air exchangers, it is not the best choice for all.
In theory, a HEPA filter can capture 99.97% of dirt, pollen, bacteria and other particles as small as 0.3 microns. These particles are 10 times smaller than those captured by the Air-T-Rex or the MervPlus filters.
However, this extreme filtration power has some drawbacks:
- The filter is more expensive.
- It requires more monitoring because when clogged, the air flow is reduced to a level that can cause problems to air conditioners and heat pumps.
- Its lifespan is shorter.

We reserve this filter for people who are very sensitive to air quality and those who have special heath problems.

A word on Activated Carbon for Odour Control
The majority of our filters are available with the carbon option. Active carbon captures gas and odours.
This option is useful in neighbourhoods where wood stoves are popular or where there is a lot of automobile traffic. Some people are very sensitive to these pollutants. Smoke odours in particular can cause nausea in some people.
